A lot of the popular hot catering and other food stalls return to the Harrogate Christmas Market this year, as well as several new ones.  We have had several requests for more special diet food offering so  we have asked our traders to let us know what they will be offering alongside traditional fayre:

Special Diets

Tarte and Berry (stall 18 in the Food & Drink Marquee) will be offering a range of treats for certain dietary requirements at the Harrogate Christmas Market. Try their Gluten-Free Raspberry & Almond Bakewell - a delicious shortbread base topped with raspberry jam, an almond frangipane sponge and dotted with raspberries. Also on their stand in the Food and Drink Marquee will be their award-winning Gluten-Free Salted Caramel Brownie and their NEW Vegan Brownie!!

Pizza Loco (stall W6 on Montpellier Hill footpath - look out for the train!) Pizza Loco's menu is largely vegetarian, with a few specialist meat options for the carnivores, and gluten-free bases available for all. They can also be vegan-friendly, replacing any cheese with infused olive oils. 

The Old Victorian Kitchen (stall R7 on St Mary's Walk)  make quality jams, pickles and chutneys using their own home grown ingredients with traditional Victorian recipes and traditional Victorian methods. All of their products, unless otherwise stated, are suitable for those on Gluten Free diets. They also produce Low Sugar versions of some of their best selling preserves for Diabetics.

Country Fare (stall P7 on St Mary's Walk) is a small artisan bakery based on a working hill farm in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. They create a range of traditional teatime treats for all the family as well as those with special dietary requirements. Including Gluten Free Christmas Cakes in their separate Gluten Free Kitchen, which is tested. Dairy Free options include flapjacks, biscuits, slices and cherry cake. Egg Free customers have the option of biscuits, flapjacks and slices. Cakes for those on a Diabetic Diet include Date and Walnut Cake and a Fruit Cake. These contain no sorbitol. The majority of our products are suitable for Vegetarians and some are suitable for Vegans. If you are unsure of anything just ask at the stall - they are always happy to talk cake!

Simply Duck (stall W4 on Montpellier Hill footpath) include a Gluten free Duck salad on the menu, offering warm duck, duck fat potatoes, cucumber, spring onion and Hoi Sin sauce - this was welcomed last year by many. They also have gluten free duck fat potatoes which can be purchased separately. Their neighbouring sister stall (W3)  Simply Strawberries, also has a gluten free option in their Strawberries and hot Belgian chocolate and cream!

Brown and Blond (stall P5 on St Mary's Walk) The majority of their brownies are gluten free as they use ground almonds. However customers will be advised that there is a slight risk of cross contamination occurring. 

Lime Tree Pantry Foods Ltd (stall F5 in Food & Drink Marquee) Their special pie pastry does NOT contain any hydrogenated fats or oils, and uses only vegetable margarine & shortening. All their fruit pies, mince pies and one savoury pie are Vegetarian & Vegan friendly. Dairy-Free - All their fruit pies and several of the savoury range are free from dairy and egg products. Just ask for more information when you visit their stall.

If it's sweets you're looking for, then look out the The Serious Sweet Company (stall R6 on St Mary's Walk). All their traditional sweets are gluten free.
